The Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia paid an unscheduled visit to Benue State Environmental Sanitation Authority (BENSESA) during his usual patrol of government offices to ascertain the level of commitment of staff to work and other duties assigned.
The Governor who was conducted round the office premises of the Authority by the General Manager, Mrs NASHIMA JENNIFER DANIEL, expressed satisfaction with the developmental strides of Mrs. Daniel in the Authority within this short time in renovating the administrative office complex, refurbishing of refuse collection trucks, a serene environment among others.
Consequently, upon the visit, Gov. Alia announced an increase in fine of stray animals arrested by the Authority from #5,000 to #10,000 as a tough measure to curtail the indiscriminate movement of all kinds of animals within the State.
He added that the danger associated with these animals moving freely is higher hence this decision.
According to the official statement by the information officer of the Authority, Mr. Iorver Simon quoted the Governor as charging the staff through Mrs
Daniel to ensure members of staff maintain high productivity to achieve the set target of the Authority in serving the Benue residents.
